Adobe Help on Resizing Images
For your presentation, resize your images so that the longest side of your image is at 7 inches and the resolution is 150 ppi. Save as a JPEG in a folder titled something like "Resized for presentation."

Creating a Basic Powerpoint Presentation

Go to "Insert" -- "Picture" -- "From File" -- Browse to find your image.

Removing Motion in the Photographs on iMovie
If using iMovie and you want to take off the Ken Burns effect (or motion) on the photograph, follow these steps:
To remove the pan and zoom effect from a photo in your movie:
Select the image in the clip viewer or timeline viewer.
Click the Media button, click Photos at the top of the Media pane, and then click Show Photo Settings.
In the Photo Settings window, deselect the Ken Burns Effect checkbox.
Click Apply.

Mercer Trip, This Saturday!
The Foundation Trip to the Mercer museum is Saturday, 11/15.
Buses will pick up from 1300 Cecil B. Moore on Main Campus (the bus people told me they would be in front of Ritter and Wiess Halls on Cecil B., facing Broad Street)
The buses are supposed to arrive at 8:45 sharp. We should be leaving Main Campus at 9am.

I have been working with PowerPoint, the ubiquitous presentation software, as an art medium for a number of years. It started off as a joke (this software is a symbol of corporate salesmanship, or lack thereof) but then the work took on a life of its own as I realized I could create pieces that were moving, despite the limitations of the "medium."
